NOVICE mosaic artist Rosie Laker has won a coveted prize in a national competition.
Rosie, from Exminster, is learning mosaic making as a hobby and is part of a group taught by mosaic artist Julie Stedman at her Opus Mosaic studio in Exeter.
Now she is one of 20 finalists whose work will go forward for national judging and the chance to win a Pounds 500 commission.
Finalist prizes were presented by Harj Dhaliwar, manager of Topps Tiles in Marsh Barton Road, Exeter. Rosie received a certificate and a Pounds 100 cheque and Julie was awarded store vouchers worth Pounds 300.
